I just LOVE the change of seasons, especially here at Scrapbook & Cards Today, because that's when each of our new issues comes out ... and our fall issue is spectacular, if I do say so myself. :) A brand, new, refreshing redesign that includes eight extra pages, loads more artwork, a bigger Reader's Gallery, one of my most favourite 3T's article to date, larger images and endless inspiration and creative possibilities. ReplyDeleteI love all the new papers that come out to coordinate with all the great holiday fun, be it snow from winter or those family nights around the fire. So many great new ways to preserve family moments. All the great activities that comes with fall, like going to the pumpkin patch to Halloween and the great family memories that are to be made when the weather changes and the cooler weather brings in the hugs and snuggles to keep warm with.

My most favorite thing about the change of seasons is waking up to cool crisp mornings, with dew on the grass, and crunching through the fallen rainbow of leaves. I love curling up on a Sunday with a big bowl of hot chili and watching football with my family and then relaxing in the evening by a bewitching bonfire and roasting just-browned marshmallows. This is definitely my favorite time of year!!

It's nice to enjoy cooking and baking the fall treats with the harvest of the summer gardens.
It's the slower pace and moments to look around and take stock of the past spring and summer and think about the winter's preparations.

With the approach of Autumn, my Christmas crafting begins. I start working on cards and handmade ornaments for family and friends. The best part of this is when my teenage son slips into my craft room to join me in crafting. Even my husband will venture in every once in a while to help. I love this time spent crafting together. It is something we don't normally do together and the change in season is what inspires it.

Here in Scotland it's the change in the foliage that I love, that and those sharp, almost frosty days, when the sun is still shining but the temperature has definitely dropped ... it all feels so cleansing after the summer.

ReplyDeleteI live in Washington state and the maple trees are just turning orange and red right now because we have had a late summer - sooo pretty to see fall colors in 80 degree weather :)

ReplyDeleteI love the smell and sounds of the falling leaves, and the warmth of the sun contrasted with the brisk breeze. Here in CO, the colors aren't as brilliant as they are in VA where I grew up -- but they are spectacular in their own way: golds against a dark, evergreen backdrop. Love it all!

ReplyDeleteI love how the leaves change. After living in California for most of my life, I moved to Reno, NV. And boy do we get all seasons! From heat to snow!! My favorite though is the Fall, all the oranges, reds and yellows.

ReplyDeleteAutumn always remind me of idillic childhood in Québec, the foliage changing to those great colours and going back to school...I always feel a tug to my heart when I see a autumnal leaf on the pavement here in London (UK). It's my favourite season because it's full of nice memories ! ;)
