Love me some Penny Black! **contest closed**

Okay, so the cat is out of the bag! :) I am so happy to have joined the creative family at Penny Black stamps. They have embraced my quirky style and are some of the kindest people I've ever worked with. It was a mad dash to release these six stamp sets at CHA Winter this month, but they made it happen (thank you Shaida!), and here they are, along with a link to ordering:

April Showers
(those little clouds coordinate with the clouds in the
PageMaps Whimsy dies by Spellbinders)

Address Book
(coordinates with the new PageMaps rolodex dies by Spellbinders)

(coordinates with the new PageMaps charm dies by Spellbinders)

And here are some fantastic card samples created by my good friend, Julie Koerber. Thanks, Julie!

Along with an adorable card by Jill Foster

And another cutie by CathyAndronicou

So there you have it -- my first release with Penny Black. :) Are you wondering why I didn't make any card samples? I have no doubt that is the first thing that my friend, Marla Kress, will ask when she sees this post! Fact is I work too darn much to stamp and make cards. Sad, huh? But I'm happy to report that I am taking this weekend off and will bust out my big girl crayons and make some, too. :)

How would you like to win a set of all six stamps!? Just post here an idea you'd like to see in a future stamp set. We'll draw a random winner next Monday. And who knows, maybe your idea will be a new stamp set this year, you just never know!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing this new venture with me!

Becky

I like to send thinking of you kind of things to a really good friend (and my boss! lol) and have to be careful not to have it look too mushy. I also have 5 brothers that I like to send things to. Flowers just seem strange to send to a guy! I have gone as far as to "doodle" things, but something easy and reusable would be awesome!

  163. Love your new stamp sets! As a new stamp suggestion, perhaps summer sports? The sorts of things you'd do on a picnic, like passing a frisbee or catch with a dog. Maybe as a background to a picnic set (silhouettes). Conversely, I'm always looking or good male oriented stamps, particularly computers (for both games and work). Can't wait to see what you design next. :)

  173. I'd like to see postage (the size of actual postal stamps) with images matching something from each set (these are great for making matching envelopes and the small size can also be used on ATC's). Also, I'd like to see very small sentiments that might fit inside the postage frame, or on those very tiny, half to 3/4 inch tag dies. Thank you.

  174. I love my PageMaps...now I can love your stamps, too! :)

As far as what I'd like to see. I have THOUSANDS of stamps, but...

    1) I could see you doing a seasonal "SET" that incorporated some common element(s) across all 4 seasons...I'm a sucker for 4 seasons & sets.

    2) I'd like to see music-related stamps that aren't so basic/simplistic...incorporating musical scores & icons INTO other images somehow, so it's not just a music note here & a chunk of a score there. I know they have to have wide appeal, so specific instruments gets tricky, but maybe like big notes that have part of a score INSIDE THEM & other unique approaches would give those of us w/ lots of musical stuff to scrap more options & more interest!

    3) I'm also regularly drawn to travel stamps that aren't location specific...we go all kinds of places...plane travel, train museums, campground camping, hiking, playgrounds, pools, beaches, historical sites, castles, mansions, amusement parks, family reunions, overseas, etc...

  183. I really like the theme of these new stamp sets! What great card displays for the use of them as well. I would like to see more general word phrases that you could either use alone or piece together (purchase separate pkgs). Sometimes phrases packaged together I don't purchase because half the phrasing doesn't appeal to my use. Also, would love to see background stamps using words or word phrases. I would enjoy seeing some stamps using constellations (on a smaller scale :) and vocation oriented ones, eg. chemistry, restaurant, technology.
