So I made this card for the big NSD celebration at Scrapbook& Cards Today waaaaaay before it's due, right? You know, get ahead of the curve, amaze the boss (if that could possibly even be achieved), knock one more thing off my ever-breeding list of things-to-do, and hey, if she needs instructions, I'll even have time for that. Right?
Off I go to locate the card last night to photograph it this morning and … hmmm … no card. I searched high and low, behind piles of paper, inside cabinets, all over my desk (what little is actually visible), under Libby the Wonder Dog (who, I might add, could hide a cat if she were so inclined), and even ventured out to the shipping box graveyard in the garage, hoping I accidentally picked it up while taking empty boxes out to stack. Yeah, no card. And dude, do you have any idea how scary a cold garage is at 11 o'clock at night? Creeeeeeeepy!
Stay with me, this gets so much better.
So I get this email from a good friend of mine this morning, thanking me for the beeeeeeautiful birthday card I sent her over the weekend. She's gushing how much she loved it and how thoughtful it was of me to send it, yada yada yada (no insult to your small novella, Tracy, it was lovely -- but seriously, 26 exclamation points in one paragraph??).
Okay, so a light bulb didn't go off. Oh no. An entire arena of lights blazed through to my pea brain, burning my cerebral cortex.
Yeah, that card.
I forgot to photograph it before I sent it to her.
So, what's been your blonde moment of 2013? Share here on this post and we'll draw a random name on Sunday who will receive a fresh copy of SCT's spring issue AND the amazing CardMaps 3 special issue!
And if you top mine, I'll throw in a BasicGrey collection pack. 'Cuz you know, I'm just cool like dat.
Have a great day, sketch peeps. I'm off to make ... *ahem* .... another card for NSD.
