ReplyDeleteFor me, the beautiful Christmas decorations. Winter can be so dark, disgusting, horrible and depressing. Seeing all the lights make me smile, especially when they are reflected in the big blue eyes of my children.

ReplyDeleteThe day after Xmas when our family all get together for my brother's birthday. My brother and his wife live in a beautiful sparsely populated part of the English countryside. Everyone cooks and bakes and all the food is home-made from local farm produce. It's so delicious because it's all so fresh. We sit in the kitchen by the wood burner and chat and laugh and tell stories.

ReplyDeleteI love christmas because we spent more time in family, we have a tradition to decorate the house together specially the christmas tree, on christmas eve we go to my aunt's house to eat and opened the presents with all the family (like 20 people) so much fun!!! My favourite part of the holidays..... Having my kids (a 7 year old girl and a 5 year old intellectually disabled boy) at home with me for six weeks. It might be a bit intense sometimes but I do love having the time to cook with them and play with them and go on outings with them. Then I love the start od school again ;) These holidays we are going to have an intensive toilet training for my boy and hopefully, oh so hopefully finish with nappies in the daytime.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite holiday is Christmas, as it is so magical. We have started early, tree is up, and this is our first year with elf on the shelf. To be honest....I think I am having more fun with setting him up in fun scenarios more than the kids finding him...LOL. The spirit and magic that comes this time of year, is amazing.
