ReplyDeletemaking krumkake cookies!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to win this Echo Park collection!!!
ReplyDeleteEver since my first niece came into this world in 2005, we have gone to spend Christmas eve at my brother's house. Despite the extra traveling it entails and the few extra expenses, it is sooo worth it because seeing the excitement and joy on both my nieces' faces (yes, now there are 2 precious little girls!) on Christmas morning when they see that Santa has come bearing gifts is simply PRICELESS!!!
Gumbo on Christmas Eve!
ReplyDeleteThe most favorite Christmas tradition in our family is decorating together the Christmas tree and make decorations from paper.
ReplyDeleteWearing Santa hats to open our gifts on Christmas morning is always fun! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI have several favorite traditions, so it's really hard to just pick one. Baking and decorating cookies with all the family, and our bonfire & fireworks on Christmas night would rank as 2 of my top favorites.
ReplyDeleteI love pulling out the ornaments, remembering the memories behind each of them as we decorate the tree.
ReplyDeleteCountry ham breakfast with my in-laws. We have done this for the last 21 years. Even my kids who are 13 and 15 look forward to it.

I would say that my favorite family tradition is decorating for the holidays! We usually have hot cider, play Christmas music, take bunches of pictures, and have just the best time! Thanks so much for the chance!
ReplyDeletePutting Christmas window clings on our livingroom window with my 2 daughters. I used to have to help them but now I just sit back and watch them create!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas tradition is the baking!!
ReplyDeleteOur fave holiday tradition is eating homemade (by my hubby!) cinnamon rolls in the morning before opening gifts :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas tradition is to put on Christmas music and decorate the tree! And it doesn't matter what we put in the tree and where we put it, as long as it is full with lights and little wonderful decorations.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Nanda
My favorite holiday tradition is opening the hallmark ornament that my grandmother got me. She would pick a series out each year and give it to us. When she died I was on faeries and barbies. My mother continued on the tradition for her and this year she started the new disney/pixar for my daughter.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christams tradition is Christams carolls. My parents always used to put them on on Christmas morning, that and eating chocolate out of the advent calendar makes Christmas real to me!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday tradition is taking the kids to see all the festive lights at the park. I love watching their eyes light up!
ReplyDeleteWhat a generous prize! I love Christmas morning when the boys flip out over their stockings and then we always have chocolate chip pancakes!!
ReplyDeletemy favorite Christmas tradition is putting up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving while listening to Christmas music. I know it's not quite December yet by then but anything Christmas is fair game right after Thanksgiving in my books :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday tradition is a weird one. It started our second Christmas. I made a big deal of "Our First Christmas" ball, and we put it on the tree together, as the last ornament. Then my first daughter was born, and right before our ball, we held her and put up hers. Two years later the second daughter. As the girls grew, they became old enough to place their "First Christmas" balls on the tree last, leaving the center of the tree front for ours, which was the very last. More time went by, and it got harder to get the girls together for tree trimming, so I'd leave a space and they'd come running down, place their balls, and run up. We are now married 32 happy years. One daughter, recently married, will not be coming home for the first time ever for Christmas. Our ball has reached the delicate state of about to disintegrate, and I've placed it on an ornament holder forever in our china closet. I will leave the space open, and when my daughter who lives nearby comes to visit, she will place her ball. Hopefully we will skype with the married one, and try to make it a happy time, and place her ball on the tree. Or, as with all traditions, maybe it's time to semi retire this one and come up with a new one.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite one is wait for the Santa Claus with the kids.... Their eyes when see the good old guy is something that I can´t explain.... I feel as I had 5 years old.... It´s amazing!!!

My fave Christmas Tradition is putting our first Christmas together ornament on the tree very last, and my daughter puts her first christmas ornament on right before hubby and I. The other thing I absolutely love is to see her eyes when she comes out Christmas Morning and see the presents Santa left for her. Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteSeveral years ago, after a divorce and there were so many places for my children and their children to go for the holidays, we started the tradition of "New Christmas". Instead of celebrating at Christmas, when it is so chaotic and families are
ReplyDeleterunning every where and the kids don't even have a chance to enjoy their gifts, we celebrate on New Year's. It is less stressful, we can enjoy a full day of each others company, eat hearty, play games, watch the parades and football, all without having to run off to someone else's house.
Oh this is awesome, thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteOur family tradition is putting up the tree together, even though the kids are teens, they still help. We listen to Christmas music, and make Great Grandma's sugar cookies :)
We have so many family traditions at Christmas..One of my favorites is going shopping with my Dad on Christmas eve for my Mom..Now my girls come with us :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite family tradition is baking the ginger bread with my boy. We've done it every year since he was three and it's such a cozy time. We bake, eat dough and dring hot lemonade while having so much fun together. Tomorrow is our baking day! Love, love, love Echo Park and this collection . :)
ReplyDeletewe spend Christmas in the mountains and the great tradition is to drink a mulled wine while watching the magnificent fireworks show and Santa Claus giving sweets to all kids... and parents lol !!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win this sooo nice kit !!
My favourite Christmas tradition is Midnight Mass at church. We go home to my parents place for the holidays so we go to the same church for mass that I went to as a child. Everything is the same as it was then - the same voices in the choir, the same smell of incense, the same stained glass windows, and most importantly the familiar faces of friends, family, and neighbors in the crowd (it's a small community so the faces don't change much except for the addition of new generations)! Everything about that Mass just makes me FEEL Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday tradition is the giant pancake we have for breakfast on Christmas morning!
ReplyDeleteRa6352 (at) gmail (dot) com
Ours is watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, there's something about the Griswalds that makes Christmas complete!!
ReplyDeleteTough to decide! But probably the wrapping and stocking stuffing I do after the kids are in bed on Christmas Eve.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is all the things we do at our church - pancakes with Santa otherwise known as the syrup bath, the children's Christmas program, and candlelight service on Christmas Eve.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to say that we have many wonderful Christmas traditions in our family. But I really love that my husband and I sort of kick off the season for ourselves by going downtown for the Christmas carol sing-along and tree lighting event on the first Saturday of December. That's tomorrow, and I can't wait! After the crowd sings together and the tree lights are turned on for the first time, we disperse and roam through downtown, where many of the shops have stayed open late for us and serve hot cocoa and cookies to the shoppers. Fun!
ReplyDeleteevery year we have the entire family sit and wtch the NYC Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting on TV with some holiday snacks and of course hot cocoa :) love it!
ReplyDelete:)
My favorite christmas tradition is the party with my Auntie, Uncle and cosins (used to be at my grandad and granny house)we have this on the 24th of December evey year and I have been going to this for the last 43 years. My Grandad used to dress up as santa clause, then my own father did. Now there arent any young enough kids to have a santa but when the next generation are around my cosin can be santa clause.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite Christmas traditions is our family $1 gift exchange. We all buy $1 gifts for each other and then have a party with fantastic food and exchange our hilarious gifts. It's my favorite part of the season. We laugh until we cry and create such great memories each year.
ReplyDeleteI make cookies for all of my neighbors every year. It's fun when I show up at their door and they say..."Yippee, the cookies are here!"
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday is making homemade padaha with my mom and my aunt. It's the Ukranian name for pierogies basically.

Christmas Baking has to be my favorite tradition. We go all out. This is our 15th year doing this. It started with just my daughter and one good friend. Now we have 10 families total come over, moms & kids, and we bake all day, divide up among each other the goodies so each family gets a little taste of everything to take home. It is a day full of chaos, laughter, and fun! And I love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is our first year that an elf has arrived in our home for the holidays and we are absolutely LOVING him!!!
ReplyDeleteGetting out the decorations and making the house look so joyful this time of year. It's the best, especially when the kids are excited!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Christmas Eve, having everything set up and letting the kids open their one gift, so fun! And I usually get some good photos, too!
ReplyDeletethanks for so much for sharing the blog, great prizes and wonderful creativity! Blessings
ReplyDeleteThis is a very unique tradition and one I don't get to participate in much anymore since I no longer live in the same state as my parents. But every Christmas, after eating cinnamon rolls and opening presents, we'd have to make a side dish to bring with us to my great aunt's house for Christmas dinner. And every Christmas we would be missing an ingredient for the side dish. So someone (me or my dad) would have to run out to Walgreens (the only place open on Christmas Day) to purchase the needed ingredient. Never a dull moment around the holidays!
ReplyDeletethe building of a gingerbread house on the day after Thanksgiving, that decorates our house for the whole Christmas season.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fun!
Sandra ltb
the shopping for a tree at the Christmas Tree Farm on the day after Thanksgiving. We all bundle up and head up the pass to the Christmas Creek Tree Farm and wander through all of the trees before selecting the one we'll cut down and bring home. Sometimes it can get pretty competitive with each of staking out our favorite tree! Once the tree is cut, we head over to the log cabin on the property to get photos with Santa and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and a cookie. We then head on home, bring the tree inside and the decorating extravaganza begins!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite holiday tradition is "Grandpa's PJs"... on Christmas eve we open one gift, PJs to wear xmas night from "grandpa"... even though our grandfathers are deceased :)

ReplyDeleteA favorite tradition is taking my daughter to go buy a nutcracker to add to our collection.
ReplyDeleteMy family does what we call Napping in the Wrapping. We do the big events on Christmas eve, so we spend the whole of Christmas day hanging out with each other, playing games, watching movies and yes, taking naps. It's WONDERFUL!
ReplyDeleteHo Ho Ho ! M favorite tradition is making some christmas biscuits with my children. Nothing spectacular but I love looking at their faces when they give those biscuits to all the people they love saying : "we did them ourselves !"
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays to you !
Karine

Leila
Also, (and I just have to add this) before we go to open presents, we all gather in my parents room and my dad says a family prayer, thanking the Lord for all we have and that we can keep our hearts open to helping others.
ReplyDeleteEach year on Christmas Eve we open one gift as a family and that gift is always a game or board game that we can play for the evening and of course many other times to come. Lat year our game was Banana Grams!
ReplyDeleteHo Ho Ho! I love my husband dressed up in a Santa costume and the bright eyes of my son (5 years old) believing that Santa is true! Than we all give thanks to the Lord and open the gifts. After all the joy, we sit around the table and eat the dinner.
ReplyDeleteEvery Christmas Eve our family goes out to dinner. It has become one of our favorite traditions... and no cooking!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday tradition is many, but if I have to choose one I have to say the evening before Christmas (here in Norway we celebrate Christmas on the evening of 24`th). The evening before Christmas we decorate the tree and have porridge with almond for dinner :) (The rest of the rice porridge we make dessert of for the Christmas Eve)
ReplyDelete:o)))
Wish you a happy Christmas
my favorite family tradition is decorating for the holidays!
ReplyDeleteEvery Christmas eve we watch A Christmas Story at least 3 times!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win. We have a lot of Christmas traditions. The best one is going to the late service at church, then coming home and having a warm drink and Christmas cookies.

ReplyDelete- April W

ReplyDeletex
the tree! My husband didn't want to put one up this year because we will hardly be home but there was no school yesterday and guess what the kids and I did?
ReplyDeleteLaurie W
Our favorite holiday tradition is decorating the tree with the children. We pull out my great-grandparents vintage ornaments, put on Christmas music and start decorating the tree. It's always a great time!!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday tradition is getting the family in the car and driving around to look at Christmas lights. It is a time to get away from all of the craziness and just spend time with each other.
ReplyDeleteSpanish snacks, particularly turron and polvorones. It's the thing I miss the most about living in Spain. We have to have it shipped!
ReplyDeleteOne of our traditions is inherited from my husband's side of the family. When we open presents, one person wears the Santa hats and gets a present and gives it to the recipient. That person opens there gifts and looks at it and then they get the Santa hat and pick out the next gift. It's a longer process than everybody opening up gifts at once, but we seem to enjoy each other and the gifts longer too. Thank you for the opportunity to win this great prize from Echo Paper!
ReplyDeletesince we have christmas in summer here in NZ i love taking the kids to the park after our big christmas lunch!!!! the exercise is what we ALL need!!! some fresh air!!! (so we dont fall asleep on the couch too!!)

ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is picking out our Christmas tree! This is a super prize...love Echo Park! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteEcho Park has Fabulous papers!!! Love them.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas tradition is our family's Christmas Eve. We all look forward to our special dinner, the poppers, the silliness that always follows, then the meaningful exchange of homemade gifts, singing Christmas carols, reading the story in St. Luke and saying a prayer before bed in front of the Christmas tree. We all feel so connected and so much love for one another.in I wouldn't trade it for anything.
LOVE Echo Park!! I guess my most cherished tradition is decorating our huge tree......each ornament has its own memory attached. For many years I made ornaments, but there are also wooden ones from our time in Europe, handmade ones from the kids when they were little in school, and of course lots of bright shiny metal balls to reflect the lights. Thanks for the chance at these fun papers.
ReplyDeleteOne of my traditions is baking gingerbread cookies!! They are a must have. :)
ReplyDeleteMy very favorite is our Elf on the Shelf tradition. Finding creative places for the elf to hide (and mischief for him to find while hiding) gets harder and harder each year, but the kids absolutely POP out of bed each morning looking for him and a quick 'the elf is watching ya know' is usually enough to knock off naughty behavior the entire month of December!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is baking and decorating Christmas cookies with my children who are growing up way too fast!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is to bake dozens and dozens of cookies, bread, and snacks and give away to everyone!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this yummy paper
Ever since our first family Christmas with our son 19 years ago, we have had cheese fondue for Christmas eve. Then we get into our new pajamas..the one gift they open that night and take a photo in front of the tree.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is decorating the tree the day before Christmas Eve..
ReplyDeleteI love these papers, and cross my fingers;-)
On Christmas Eve our family always takes the time to sit down, just us, and have communion. It is our way to stop in the middle of all the madness and remember the reason for the season.
ReplyDeleteWe like to do a Christmas morning family breakfast before the gift opening.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite traditions are, well, pretty traditional: listening to holiday music and baking cookies, preferably at the same time!
ReplyDeleteTough... probably decorating and baking. I am not huge into baking, but I bake up a storm this time of year, and it really makes it feel like Christmas to me! Now I get to pass that on to my two little girls, which makes it even more fun :)
ReplyDeleteDecorating the tree and making cookies!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite traditions is our church's pageant on Christmas Eve. The kids are super cute!

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite traditions so far is hiding Mr. Petrie, our elf on the shelf, and seeing my boys curiosity in the morning as they look for where he is!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is family dinner Christmas Day and the fight over the pie! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is my family getting together for Christmas Eve dinner. Not only do we celebrate Christmas, but we also celebrate my Grandma's Birthday (even though she is no longer with us). This a great start to the Christmas week that my sister and her family are up from Oregon! Knock on wood...we have not missed a year being together for over 49 years! :)
ReplyDeleteSo many traditions - both old and new that I love sharing with my two girls (ages 7 & 5) We love Christmas baking, we love Christmas crafts. This year we are having a Christmas Advent calendar of giftwrapped Christmas books. We share Christmas breakfast & Santa sacks at Grandma's with the whole family. Boxing Day with the extended family. Confetti everywhere. Christmas hats. New Christmas outfits. So much to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMy children are 23 & 19 and they still love our holidays traditions from putting up the tree December 1st to decorating gingerbread cookies. They still love their chocolate advent calendars too. It's nice to see that tradition is important even when your a "big" kid.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is hanging the Christmas pickle on the tree and having the kids find it. The one that does gets to open the first present on Christmas morning!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite traditions is watching White Christmas with my sister on Christmas Eve while we stuff our parents stockings :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas tradition is the advent calendar. Each day my kids pick an item out of a quilt advent calendar and then place the item where it belongs. Each item in the pockets is a piece to a small nativity scene. So they are choosing Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, animals, wise men, etc and then placing them in the stable. The kids look forward to it every day and can't wait to see what they pull out of the pocket! So fun and a great way to focus on the true meaning of Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday tradition is going to my grandma's on Christmas Eve for mass, food, and gift giving. Such a fun family time! Thanks for the chance to win.

ReplyDeleteOne tradition I enjoy with my family is driving around in the car with hot cocoa looking at Christmas lights!
ReplyDeleteevery Christmas dh and our kids buy me a 1000+ jigsaw puzzle. At the beginning of December we start working on the puzzle from the Christmas before - a little every day - takes a few weeks (especially when the cat keeps trying to undo any progress)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is hanging out all day on Christmas Day in our PJ's, enjoying family time and our gifts to each other. :)
ReplyDeleteWe always put a few slices of mum's homemade fruit cake and a Shandie out for Santa every year. No surprises there was nothing left the next morning, no matter how early we got up!
ReplyDeleteOur favorite tradition is making my grandmothers nut roll, then every Christmas morning after all the gifts are opened, the adults sit down and drink coffee and eat Grandmoms nut roll and reminsce about the past.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is getting new pj's on Christmas Eve & getting everyone in my family a special ornament that represents the year.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is making cookies for Santa with the kids.
ReplyDeleteFor the past three years, we've gone bowling on Christmas Eve. It's a great way to spend time together and to keep the kids occupied while they're waiting for Christmas to come. It's become a fun tradition.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is getting each of my kids and grandkids an ornament each year. The ornament has something to do with something special that happened to then that year. I have been doing that since my kids were little.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourite holiday traditions is the Christmas night "getogether" that all of my friends gather at. All day is usually spent with family but always on Christmas night where I live, all the people around my age (20-35) get together and always have a blast. I enjoy it every year! (Plus the family stuff too- because my fam rocks!)
ReplyDeleteWe're still working on finding what works for our family but I love watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas with my girls!
ReplyDeleteOur kids can wake us up on Christmas morning but are not allowed to use an alarm clock to get themselves out of bed. This was great when they were small and so eager to open gifts. Now that they are teens we sometimes have to wake them up. Which is a fun twist! :)
ReplyDeleteWe watch Home for the Holidays each year.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday tradition is watching the original Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer!
ReplyDeleteLove echo park!! Our only tradition so far is to have the kids decorate a gingerbread house when their cousin is in town but this is the first year I'm making a "Jar of Fun" filled with 25 slips of paper the family can do together. THe kids will draw a slip of paper a day during the month and I hope this will be an ongoing tradition :)
ReplyDeleteOhhhh I love Echo Park and I do not have this collection!!! Pleasssseeee pick me!! Thanks so much! Oh by the way my favorite holiday tradition is opening just one gift Christmas Eve night!! As a kid I loved it, and now watching my girl is even better!
ReplyDeletefavorite tradition? watching "Holiday Inn" and making chocolate chip cookies. invariably some of the cookies get baked a bit too long because I LOVE the movie too much! but nothing a little hot chocolate won't cover up! lol!
ReplyDeleteOur tradition is opening gifts with my mom on Christmas eve and drinking her homemade cranberry cider. Yum!
ReplyDeleteWe've always opened up one present on Christmas Eve and of course watch plenty of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation several times before Christmas, in addition to Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! Thanks for the chance at a great prize! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is to decorate the tree with my kids while playing Harry Connick Jr's Christmas CD... I can't wait to do it again this year!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is back home with my mother, father and all my family that i can't see during the the year... Hope I can do this a lot of years!!!
ReplyDeleteEvery year we make "Nuts and Bolts" together as a family. Now that both of my children are in college, I buy everything ahead of time and as soon as they are both home for the holidays, we make about five or so 4-litre ice-cream pails full. There's usually only enough for the kids to take a bit along with them when their Christmas break is over!
ReplyDeleteI've added a new tradition since we've been blessed with grandchildren. One gift that everyone gets is a book. I hope to instill the love of reading in my grandchildren. As they get older they see that the books range from Cupcake cookbooks, How-to book, mysteries, jokes, celebrity...all the many things there are to read.
ReplyDeleteMaking lots of mince pies on Christmas eve with my girls. I make the pastry and they cut out and fill as they got older the results looked better LOL. Can't do this this year as we are not all together for Christmas ... winning the lovely paper would cheer me up no end!
ReplyDeleteMy family tradition is gathering at either my mum's or sister's place on the eve. My sister & I will whip up the meal including dessert. We'll have games then it's present exchange time.
ReplyDeleteWe all wear reindeer headbands (with the antlers sticking up) on Christmas day. Our last name is Rudolph so it is a family joke!
ReplyDeleteWhat I love most about the holidays is the time spent with family. Thanks for the fun contest. ~Amy Tara

ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is making christmas candy with my kids and then running around the neighborhood and giving to the neighbors.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was very young (I don't remember this), I asked Santa for a gift for my grandmother instead of something for myself. Apparently Santa was so impressed he took a break and enlisted the help of my mother to help him find my grandmother's gift. My favorite tradition ever since then has been to ask Santa for a gift for someone else. He always seems to come through for me! Grandma is long gone (I'm over 50 years old now), but the tradition lives on, and helps me remember what Christmas is supposed to be all about.
ReplyDeleteIn the Netherlands we celebrate Sinterklaas on December 5th, it's a typical Dutch celebration and my alltime fave since my son was born. He's five now and totally into it, knows all the songs and watch all the tv series about it. Wish he could stay this age forever during Sinterklaas. ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas tradition is piling the whole family into the car and riding around at night to see all of the houses and their wonderful lighting displays. I loved it when my Dad and Mom would do that for us 6 kids. When my hubby and I had kids of our own, we did that every year as well.
